It’s no secret that the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft has been constantly plagued with bugs. We suppose it is down to Mojang’s need to develop software for multiple platforms at once. While some bugs are minor, there are some that can be downright irritating, and a newly discovered bug may end up being awful for hardcore players in Bedrock. It now seems that consuming the Chorus Fruit can end up killing you.

The Chorus Fruit and The Bug

Seasoned Minecraft players will know that the Chorus Fruit is one of the coolest items in the game. If you find yourself in a bit of a hair-raising situation, you can pop a Chorus Fruit and find yourself teleported to a random position in the Minecraft world. It is awesome for hardcore players who may have stumbled across a challenge a little too big for them, or for those that have bought cheap Minecraft accounts with some cool worlds begging to be explored.

Up until recently, it was believed that the Chorus Fruit would transport the player to a stable block, ensuring that the player isn’t killed from height. Turns out this isn’t the case. Several YouTube videos have surfaced that have shown players dying from consuming the Chorus Fruit, inevitably dropping all their gear. It is unknown whether they are genuinely falling from height to their death, though. This is despite the death notification saying that this is what occurred.

As of the time of writing, the bug hasn’t been fixed. Although, it doesn’t seem to be as prevalent as people seem to believe. There really seems to be no rhyme or reason why it is happening, and it is likely just a glitch that will hit a fraction of a fraction of the player base.

Stil, it does go to show that Mojang have some serious bugs that need to be smoothed out with the Bedrock Edition of the game, although it doesn’t appear to be something that will be driving players away soon. It is clear that the game isn’t in a good state with minor bugs galore, but this is something that Mojang have pledged to clear up over the coming year or so. Things may be a bit easier on that front since they have stopped development on Minecraft Legends.

It won’t stop players calling out for a fix to this rare bug, though. They’ve taken to Reddit in their droves to try and force a change, but it will probably be to no avail.

Will Mojang Fix This?

Honestly, we have no idea. Despite being one of the most popular games in the world, the development of Minecraft often moves at a snail’s pace. Not many people seem to be experiencing the bug either, which can make it far tougher for the developers to track down exactly what causes it.
